Occupational therapists help clients manage, learn, or relearn daily living skills. Many individuals who have just been released from a healthcare facility may find readjusting to daily routines at home a challenge. For this reason, they help family members inspect the house for possible changes to make moving around easier and safer for the client. Once the client gets home, they offer clients assistance in reacquainting themselves to doing daily living activities on their own. Should clients need help in certain areas, they can guide clients in learning various personal care tasks and other tasks that promote their independence. Occupational therapists may also support clients using mobility devices in getting accustomed to using these devices.
